Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the New Mercies mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

New Mercies is a mobile application designed to help users journal their daily experiences, track prayers, and engage with devotional content. The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use.

Offline-First Application

New Mercies is designed to function primarily offline. While the App may include features that can work with an internet connection, the core functionality does not require internet access. You acknowledge that:

The App stores all data locally on your device
You are responsible for backing up your data if desired
We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, loss, or damage
Some features may require internet connectivity, but core journaling features work offline

User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Use the App only for lawful purposes
Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Not use the App to transmit any harmful, offensive, or illegal content
Maintain the security of your device and any passcodes or authentication methods you use
Be responsible for all activities that occur under your use of the App

Intellectual Property

The App, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by New Mercies and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our prior written consent.

Content and Materials

The App may include devotional content, Bible verses, and quotes from various sources. While we strive to provide accurate and appropriate content, we make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any content. You acknowledge that:

Devotional content is provided for informational and inspirational purposes only
Bible verses are provided for reference and may use various translations
You should verify any content that is important to you

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEW MERCIES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

Data Loss

Since New Mercies stores all data locally on your device, you are responsible for:

Backing up your data if you wish to preserve it
Protecting your device from loss, theft, or damage
Understanding that uninstalling the App may result in data loss

We are not responsible for any loss of data, including journal entries, prayer requests, or other information stored in the App.

Modifications to the App

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part thereof at any time, with or without notice. We may also update the App from time to time, and these updates may include bug fixes, new features, or changes to existing functionality.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will cease immediately.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which New Mercies operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
